I’m often asked by perspective clients, “What’s included in an Atlanta Video Solutions wedding video?”.  It can sometimes be a tough question to answer because every wedding we shoot is unique and thus each final edited wedding video is different.

There are, however some things seem to remain constant across all of the weddings we film:

We include your wedding ceremony in it’s entirety

Your final wedding DVD will contain a copy of your entire ceremony.  We think it is important to document and include this in its entirety.  The ceremony is typically filmed with two manned cameras and is edited between the two to give you the best angles on all of the action.

All of the big moments from your reception

These moments vary from wedding to wedding but include everything you might imagine.  Some of the typical moments are listed below.

• Introductions
• First Dance
• Father/Daughter Dance
• Mother/Son Dance
• Toasts
• Cake Cutting
• Bouquet/Garter Toss
• Bride/Groom Exit

Beyond the big moments we’ll include some footage of your guests having a good time along with anything else of significance.  We’ll work with you to determine if there is anything else you want to be sure we include.

A montage of the entire day set to music

Your final DVDs will include a cinematic montage of the day set to music.  This montage is similar to the video samples we have on our videography samples page.  You can see more examples of these montages throughout our blog.

A photo montage set to music:

If you’ve ordered a videography package with a  photo montage then that will be included on your final DVDs.  Photo montages can be prepared in advance to show at your rehearsal dinner or can be edited in post production depending on your preference.  No matter your preference we will include this on the final DVD.

We recently received a request to live stream a client’s wedding online for family and friends who couldn’t make it to the event. While we have experience with live streaming events, this is the first time we had been asked to webcast a wedding.  Below are some of the details of the live streaming  package we crafted for this particular client.

What’s included:

-3 camera package w/live streaming

-Live stream website design, 1 page website with player. Mobile viewing available.

-Custom designed slates for times when stream is unavailable (down time before ceremony start, between ceremony & reception, and after reception end.)

-3 Cameras, 2 constantly attached to live stream. 1 occasional on stream & used for extra footage for fully edited production.

-3 videographers stay for entire ceremony and reception.

Our Final Deliverables:

-Live stream of entire ceremony and reception made available via custom website.

-Final fully edited production on DVD

-Final DVD of live stream

This package includes everything we need except for a high speed internet connection on location. We prefer a wired internet connection directly to our workspace. Here are the upload speeds we need for the respective video quality:

What to Ask Your Wedding Videographer

• What is your shooting style? Videographers, similar to photographers, have their own style of shooting. Most can mimic the style you desire, but some may lean more towards a documentary style over cinematic, or the other way around. However, many videographers will use a mixture of the two. It’s best to let them know which videography style you prefer up front.

• What packages do you offer and what are your prices? When you start searching for a wedding videographer in Atlanta, it’s best to know what falls within your budget. Some videographers run specials, or they are flexible in pricing and packages, but others will stick to their prices. Most will have their wedding videography prices listed on their website.

• How many cameras will you be using? Knowing whether or not the videographer has enough equipment to get all of the shots that you want is very important. Multiple cameras mean multiple angles and it increases the likelihood of capturing the best moments of your wedding.

• What type of video equipment will you be using? Seasoned veteran videographers will have a variety of equipment to offer when shooting your wedding. Look for broadcast quality video cameras, and the ability to upgrade to high definition if you desire as well. It’s also important to ask about the microphones used during the filming of wedding.

• Will you be the one shooting our wedding, and will you have an assistant? It’s always nice to know that the person you are doing business with is also the one who will be shooting your wedding. You should also ask if there will be a second shooter (assistant videographer) at your wedding as well.

• How long will you retain original copies of the videos? You will want to know how long your videographer will keep a saved copy of the original product for various reasons. Some relatives might be late in ordering their copies of the wedding, or if for some unfortunate reason, you lose your copy, it’s nice to know that you can call and have a replacement shipped to you as well.

• When can we expect to have a finished product? Before hiring your wedding videographer, it is essential that you know when to expect a finished product. You don’t want to expect a six week turnaround and actually get your wedding video after twelve weeks. The time it takes isn’t as important as the time you expect it to arrive.

• Will you coordinate the filming of our wedding with the photographer? It’s bad enough that your uncle the aspiring photographer might photo bomb your wedding. Make sure that the videographer and the photographer are on the same page so that neither sneaks into the frame of the other. A videographer and a photographer that can coordinate well will make for better finished products for live and still film.

• How much is the deposit, when is it due, and when is the remaining balance due? Knowing when and how much is due is important when booking your wedding videographer. Generally, there is a percentage due to reserve your wedding date, another percentage due just before the wedding, and the remaining balance is due upon delivery of the video production. Just ask your videographer and mark down reminders on your calendar of the due dates.

• Are you available to film our wedding? The most important question to ask is, “are you available”. Before moving forward, make sure that the videographer that you choose is available on your wedding date.
